"As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace."
- 1 Peter 4:10
The Altar Guild is made up of parishioners who faithfully care for the many details that support our worship. Members help tend to the church’s liturgical items so that each Mass and sacramental celebration can take place with reverence and care.
How To Help
Service in the Altar Guild takes many forms. Some volunteers sew Baptism bibs and other church items at home as needed. Others spend about 30 minutes a week at church dusting, polishing, and cleaning specific liturgical items, caring for candles, or straightening books in the pews. Members can also help by washing albs or taking vestments to the cleaners, laundering and ironing altar linens every six weeks, and watering plants while keeping them fresh and healthy.
Time Committment
Many of these tasks are shared on a rotating schedule, making it easy to serve in a way that fits your time and talents. Together, Altar Guild members help ensure that our worship space is always ready to welcome the parish community in prayer.
